This course is based on our last Zoom course, given by the creators of the Dogs and Birds Piano Method. This updated course includes many additional hints and tips, and more recent material aimed at making your lessons easier and more beneficial when teaching the very young.
It is broken up into 16 sections for ease of viewing. It contains our most recent pedagogy and since it is streamable it will be updated when new developments occur. Access to the course is for 12 months and it includes 12 months free trial access to all 91 puppet videos “Dorian and Miss Bell - Piano Lessons in the Forest”.
In this course, lasting over 6 hours in total, we give key suggestions on how to incorporate the basic elements of the Dogs and Birds approach at the start of Book 1 and to build on them as you work through the Nursery Rhyme Book and Book 2 to offer a seamless transition to using conventional music. It covers note recognition, finger positions, and the use of rhythm exercises to help with an easy progression, both for face to face and online lessons. It uses videos from past courses and more recent videos of Elza’s students, from her online teaching, to demonstrate the approach.
