    Excellent book for young pupils.

Posted by Wayne on 10th Jul 2020

I’m a piano teacher who came across this method about 12 months ago, I started my daughter one week before her 3rd birthday on the first book and within 5 months she completed all book one and is on book 2. I found using the nursery rhyme book alongside end of book one and two a great incentive and motivational tool. Although I have many years experience teaching I never taught so young but this method is outstanding!!!!!

    Fun introduction to repertoire

Posted by Gillian on 8th Dec 2018

This is one of my favorite piano methods for teaching very young beginners because the books are colourful and tell a story. Parents also like this simple and straight forward piano method themselves because it compares to sharing storytime with their children. After completing Book 1 of Dogs and Birds ‘Nursey Rhymes and Famous Melodies’ was a welcome addition of familiar or catchy tunes. One five year old exclaimed at his lesson that he ‘didn’t realise that learning Music could be so much fun’. These familiar songs and melodies encourage children to sing, develop listening and to memorize tunes. I would highly recommend this book.

She loves this Nursery Rhyme book

Posted by Tiffany on 13th Sep 2014

I bought this book for my daughter who is 5 years old. She loves this Nursery Rhyme book. She happily plays and sings the nursery songs everyday and wants to play new songs everyday. Also my son(8 years old) enjoys all the songs as well who even tries to play the songs using violin. It is a fantastic piano book for young children who is learning to play piano.

This is fast becoming a favourite!

Posted by KAC on 13th Sep 2014

This is fast becoming a favourite with both my children (6 and 5 years). The fact that the tunes are all recognisable to them, along with the sympathetic arrangments and brightly coloured designs, means they are very much encouraged to try new tunes and enjoy playing some old favourites. And there is enough variety to challenge them without putting them off. A great book all round!

6 year old has quickly memorised two tunes now

    Posted by c.green on 13th Sep 2014

A wonderful pair of books which have aided very quick learning for my two children (6 and 4 years). The 6 year old has quickly memorised two tunes now (Sur le Pont and Mary had a little lamb)both within a single week. The illustrations in the books are engaging and the kids love using them making it very easy indeed for them to learn quickly. I intend to keep going and use these as the basis for the kids to build up their own little repertoire memorised by heart. A must buy for new learners.

I can fully recommend this book for young starters.

Posted by WenckeW on 13th Sep 2014

Our son (6 years old) started on this book a month ago and is enjoying it a lot: the fact that he knows most of the songs helps and even the new ones he cannot wait to learn. The illustrations are fantastic and help keep him engaged (especially as they are coloured!) I can fully recommend this book for young starters.
